Growing our Faith
Sunday Bible Study
Each week at 9:00 am, we gather to study Scripture together with Brother Dave. Week by week, we work our way through one biblical book at a time - and talk about whatever might arise among us - history, liturgy, our own life experiences, and the overflowing love of God - a freewheeling encounter with the Word.
Catechumenate
This ministry introduces Christianity to adults and older children contemplating the sacrament of baptism. It is a journey of questioning, education and contemplation. After consultation with the Rector, a catechumen begins this journey on the first Sunday in Advent, continuing each Sunday through Lent. The culmination of this journey for many catechumens is baptism at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday.
Adult Study Group
This group, led by Peter Schmidt, meets on Wednesdays at 10:00 am. Participants view video presentations from the "Great Courses" series on topics related to the history of the Church, theology, and Scripture, and enjoy a lively discussion after each week's video.
The Savage Writers
This group, named for late founder Margaret Savage, meets Tuesdays on Zoom to encourage all forms of writing. Participants share their work with each other - fiction, nonfiction, memoir, poetry, and more.
Book Club (on hiatus)
The Book Club meets once a month for an in-depth book discussion. Social justice non-fiction works are explored and occasional fiction works are selected by the group. Our discussions are lively and interesting. You don’t have to be a bookworm, we warmly invite and welcome all readers.
The Climate Change Forum series features climate scientists from the University of Arizona and elsewhere. Five forums have been held over the last several years. In addition, we have hosted events about “The Future of Water in Tucson,” presented by Pima County Interfaith Civic Education Organization (PCICEO), and one called “From Border Walls to Border Lands: Environmental Impacts of U.S. Border Policy,” presented by Dan Millis, Sierra Club Borderlands Program coordinator.
